The movers came and packed up all of our stuff a few days after school got out on Whidbey Island last spring, then we moved briefly back to Seattle into a rental until we headed to DC, not bothering to unpack most of the boxes. On the last day of school, apparently they gave the kids hot dogs. Oliva gets severe migraines from nitrates, so she's not allowed to eat hot dogs. Therefore, it makes sense that she put it in her jacket pocket rather than not accepting it or throwing it away, right? I finally unpacked that last box of rain gear and guess what I found, still in her jacket pocket?
When I pulled it out, horrified, she said, "Oh! I was saving that for Seamus!" Our dog. He didn't want it.

OH my god! That's so disgusting! lol
Ewwwwwww!
Just, ewwwwww.
But, I wonder if my son's migraines could be linked to something like nitrates, or another food allergy. How did you discover that nitrates were the cause of the headaches?
@ I'll take Mine~It was a long process of elimination. My daughter's triggers are MSG, nitrates, and certain food dyes. We generally avoid processed foods around here, but have discovered nitrate-free bacon, so not all is lost!
Last summer, we found a bag of potatoes that the movers packed. Luckily, it wasn't too long after we moved in, so had only been boxed up for 1 month or so. However, talk about a science experiment gone really wrong....
Did I ever tell you about the time the movers tried to pack Cait's (full, yes, before I was a CD-er) Diaper Genie? THAT would have been a pleasant welcome to Caracas!
and yet another laugh-out-loud reaction to one of your posts. thanks for sharing :-).
Okay - I just laughed out loud. Reminder ... check every pocket! And backpack. And shoe....
